Forbes Little As Win Bernardi’s Grant

Forbes Little Athletics have received $1,500 in the latest round of funding from Bernardi’s Building Better Communities program. Forbes Little Athletics were joined in this round of funding by Forbes Netball Association who were given $1000. The funds will help them refurbish and upgrade some of their administrative equipment. Committee members said that Forbes Little Athletics would like to thank Bernardi’s and the community for their support.

Junior Cricket Still Looking For Players

Registrations for the Forbes Junior Cricket (FJC) are now open and organisers are encouraging kids to sign up believing they will have enough numbers to field teams across all age groups including possibly fielding a female team in a first for Forbes Junior Cricket.

Upon confirmation from Parkes Junior Cricket, the FJC were aiming to begin the season tomorrow on October 16. There is also new turf and updated cricket nets that have been installed thanks to Forbes Shire Council and Forbes Junior Cricket at the Botanical Gardens.

The Forbes Junior Cricket Club are also planning to host Master Blasters sessions again on Saturday mornings this year. You can sign up to play cricket locally online at https://play.cricket.com.au/.

Training will be on Wednesday’s with the under 14s and 17s at the new nets at South Circle. The 10s and under 12s squads will be training at Botanical Gardens. Fun trials will start on October 16.

Swampies Get Evolutionary Help

Forbes Swampies Junior AFL have been the beneficiaries of a $3000 grant from the wonderful people at Evolution Mining at Lake Cowal. The money will allow the club to upgrade uniforms and equipment for 2022. Great stuff!

Golf Championships Delicately Poised

Last weekend saw the 1st and 2nd rounds of the Club Championships, sponsored by Lachlan Commodities. Leaders after Rd 2 are: A-Grade S Betland (141) from J Betland (143); A-Reserve Grade K Herbert (157) from S French (160); B-Grade B Robinson (158) from J Morell (162); C-Grade D Tildsley (181) from J Hemming (182).
