Fibre Upgrades Coming To Forbes

In the coming weeks nbn delivery partner, Ventia, will begin pushing fibre deeper into parts of Forbes and replacing Fibre to the Node technology. The work will be completed in stages throughout the first half of 2025.

Upgrading to full fibre delivers a range of benefits for customers when compared to copper connections, including smoother video calls, enhanced streaming, quicker response times for gaming, and the ability to connect more devices simultaneously – including smart TVs, home security systems, and smart home technology.

Once most of an area is eligible to upgrade to fibre, nbn’s retailers will advise their customers. We recommend you register for updates so that nbn can let you know as soon as fibre becomes available for you.

nbn will be holding drop-in style community information sessions in Forbes to share information and provide community members with the opportunity to have a face-to-face chat about nbn. The first session is scheduled for: Monday, 16 December, 7am-11:30am at the Pitt Stop Park Kiosk on the corner of Lachlan St and Rankin St ForbesHead of nbn local NSW Tom O’Dea said: “We are pushing fibre deeper, into more cities, towns and communities across regional NSW,” he said.

“Upgrading to fibre when it becomes available will mean customers will automatically roll onto faster speed plans when new hyperfast residential and business products from 14 September, 2025.”

Information sessions in other regions and additional information sessions in Forbes will be held in 2025 and will be listed on nbn’s events page at: https://www.nbnco.com.au/corporate-information/media-centre/events
